NEW PROJECT
Hi
I recently turned 27 years old and became more stressed from the idea of not achieving enough before I turn 30. I’m a gamer at heart, clocking in thousands of hours into World of Warcraft, Team Fortress 2, League of Legends, Nintendo Classics and so much more. I like to think I’m pretty good at games as well. But all of that doesn’t account for much unfortunately.
Other than gaming, there’s been two things that I’ve always pursued, both conciously and not: Making Games & Music.
In highschool, we would have a one hour lunch break, and during this time, I would often go to the school library to use the computers. I would make a series of “Maze Games” using Microsoft Powerpoint called “Frustration” (directly ripped off from another flash game). You can create events on Powerpoint whenever the mouse/cursor would touch or click a shape. Using this technique, you could create walls and void zones that the player would have to avoid and navigate their mouse/cursor through. It worked surprisingly well, and a lot of my friends and fellow students ended up playing some of it (although only a few managed to beat the game).
At the same time, I discovered a cool game online called Roblox and would spend all my spare time at home building “obbys” and finding ways to save tickets to buy the Valkyrie Helm. I had made a Mission Impossible Obby which got over 20,000 plays which I was very proud of at the time. Foolishly, I gave my account away and lost a lot of my valuable items (until I retrieved it in a mission to secure all online accounts from privacy/security paranoia).
Later in life, I experimented with GameMaker and Unity. Originally, I was struggling to understand Unity, and even got burned out from GameMaker. But during the covid pandemic, I had a bunch of spare time to sit down and really learn unity properly (to a modicum of success).
I’m rambling at this point, but I’ve stated all of this because I’ve only recently realized that: I’ve been making games all my life. Simple and dodgy ones, sure, but games nonetheless. There was a point where I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and after dropping out of college, working a few different jobs and just drifting along, I think I’ve discovered a path for myself.
My name is Karl, but online I usually go by Krumble.
Krumble Hut is my brand/hub for my interests and endeavours into Game Design, Gaming and Music.
I want to make fun games that are created for fun, enjoyment, and the art. NOT created as a product solely to monetize.
If you’re reading this, thank you for stopping by :). I intend to post all sorts of fun content on this website including web games and virtual music toys. You can also check Krumble Hut on Youtube and Patreon. This is still early days for Krumble Hut, but I’m excited for the future that’s planned.
